Sodium Butyrate is a dietary supplement containing butyric acid in the form of sodium butyrate, in easy-to-swallow capsules. The product is an excellent source of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA), which play a key role in the proper functioning of the digestive system.
What is sodium butyrate?
Sodium butyrate is the sodium salt of butyric acid – one of the most important fatty acids for the intestines. It is the main source of energy for colonocytes, or intestinal epithelial cells. Regular supplementation supports the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa, supports intestinal microflora, and can also have a beneficial effect on digestive processes.
