It grows in a limited south-eastern area of Morocco, where it is a unique plant for its region. The tree species of the monotypic genus comes from the sapodilla family of plants belonging to the order of heaths found in tropical and subtropical areas. The tree reaches a height of up to 10 meters, bearing green fruits with nuts inside. It is called the tree of life, because the nuts provide a raw material in the form of argan oil, which has healing properties.
Called Moroccan gold, it is obtained from fresh nuts found in the fruit of the argan tree, which is cold pressed without any chemical treatment. It has a slightly orange color with a characteristic slightly bitter-nutty smell. Used in medicine and natural cosmetics. Rich in unsaturated fatty acids, about 80% mainly in linoleic omega-6 and oleic omega-9. It contains vitamin "E" called the vitamin of beauty and youth, the concentration of which is twice as high as in olive oil. It also has many active substances, in which there are groups of anti-carcinogenic compounds, such as: carotenes, polyphenols with antioxidant and anti-radical properties, tocopher, triterpene alcohols, tirukallol that soothes allergy symptoms, sterols that regenerate the epidermis and butyrospermol that cares for the skin before and after sunbathing.
Argan oil is intended for sensitive, dry, mature, acne skin and in cases of skin disease. It gently moisturizes and firms the skin, improving its elasticity. It has anti-inflammatory, revitalizing and soothing effect on irritated skin. An excellent elixir of youth for face care and aging skin, it protects against premature appearance of wrinkles, delaying the aging process. It has a great effect on nourishing and strengthening the hair, restoring its natural glow. It also works well in nail care, increasing their hardness and beautiful shine.

The history of the argan tree dates back to the times of the indigenous Barber people of Chamito-Semitic origin associated with the northern part of Africa and the Sahara. The argan tree, described by the natives as the tree of life, played a great role in the existence of the population and animals inhabiting the desert climate, which is hard to survive. However, the most valuable wealth of this tree was argan oil obtained for centuries, which served primarily as food and a natural cosmetic for care purposes.
An interesting fact about the argan tree and the oil obtained from it is the fact that argan trees live on average 150-200 years. The only region where they can be found is Morocco. The areas where crops are cultivated have been included in the list of UNESCO reserves. You have to wait about half a century for the first harvest. Traditionally, argan oil is pressed by Moroccan women. Obtaining oil is very complicated and time-consuming. To obtain 1 liter of oil, you need to use about 30 kilograms of fruit.
Always close the bottle after each use and store it in a cool place.
